NORM LAICH & JAY LIZO

Big Ideas Stumbling Into Small Walls
New Work by Norm Laich & Jay Lizo

Norm LaichNorm Laich's large-scale wall painting utilizes graphic imagery and lettering in a way that parallels media-driven lingo offered in ceremonies of free enterprise, liberty and social equality.

Jay LizoJay Lizo's likens his mixed media installation combining Aretha Franklin's "Think" with text from Mother Pollard, a Montgomery Bus Boycott participant,to when a DJ plays a song that then triggers a memory game of when a person first heard the song, what they were doing, what was going on in the world during that time. This game is what drives his work.

Opening Reception - Friday, April 6, 2007, 7 - 10pm
